Application-Aware High Availability with Application Recovery Kits (ARKs)

High Availability for Complex Databases and Enterprise Applications

Application Recovery Kits (ARKs) extend SIOS LifeKeeper high availability (HA) solutions with application-aware intelligence that automates failover for complex databases and enterprise platforms. These plug-in modules coordinate application startup, validation, monitoring, and infrastructure dependencies in accordance with vendor best practices to ensure reliable recovery.

Generic clustering tools can fail over critical applications from one server to another, but they often lack awareness of how applications must be started, validated, and monitored, and of how network resources, such as IP addresses, must be moved during failover. Many clustering solutions also require complex configuration and manual scripting to enable failover.

Without coordinated failover orchestration, organizations risk improper startup sequences, incomplete service initialization, and extended downtime during recovery events.

SIOS LifeKeeper ARKs automate configuration, manage dependencies, and orchestrate failover for consistent operation across mission-critical application environments during both planned maintenance and unexpected failures.
