SteelEye Protection Suite (SPS) for Linux

Integrated high availability clustering and data replication for Linux environments

SteelEye Protection Suite (SPS) for Linux integrates high availability clustering with innovative data replication functionality in a single, enterprise-class solution. With sophisticated monitoring, automated recovery, and other advanced features including high-speed, block-level data replication, redirection of client connectivity, and a unique hybrid storage model, SPS for Linux is optimized to address both traditional high availability requirements as well as the complex nuances of multi-site wide-area clustering.

SPS for Linux integrated components

SteelEye LifeKeeper® – High availability clustering for up to 32 nodes with many supported storage configurations, including shared storage (Fiber Channel SAN, iSCSI), network attached storage (NAS), host-based replication, and integration with array-based SAN replication including HP Continuous Access.

SteelEye DataKeeper – Real-time synchronous or asynchronous volume-level mirroring and shared-nothing clusters across any distance.

Application Recovery Kits (ARKs) – Out-of-the-box, application-aware agents for monitoring and recovery of all of your critical applications, data, storage, and services. Learn more »

SPS for Linux high availability & linux disaster recovery

Key features & benefits

  • Innovative “application awareness” to ensure continuous uptime: SPS integrates with our extensive set of Application Recovery Kits (ARKs) to protect your entire IT stack: applications, databases, storage, Web services, and network infrastructure resources. With granular visibility into the health of your SAP, Oracle, and other applications and databases, you can ensure your systems are properly responding – not just running. SIOS also offers an open SDK and Generic ARK template for the rapid extension of application awareness to custom applications and databases.
  • Flexible data replication, failover, and disaster recovery: SPS supports real-time data replication, continuous monitoring, automated failover, and Wizard-based disaster recovery within LANs, across WANs, and throughout cloud/virtualized environments. SPS also ensures data integrity between production and recovery environments to safeguard current information and individual transactions in the event of disaster. Our unique “any point in time rewind” capability enables you to rewind to any moment before data loss occurred, so you can restore data and resume normal business operations in minutes. Support for efficient block-level replication and flexible Sync or Async replication allows customers to strike the optimal balance between protection and cost.
  • A simple and proven path to superior availability: SPS takes the complexity out of high availability with fast, Wizard-based installation and an intuitive GUI for centralized cluster configuration and management- no custom file systems or volume managers required. And, unlike other offerings on the market, SIOS solutions are built on a proven and stable architecture that isn’t constantly in flux, so you can start small and perform rolling upgrades with no need to “rip and replace” as your requirements change.
  • Fast time to benefit for a rapid return on investment: You can rapidly integrate SPS into your existing IT infrastructure, whether you’re running Linux servers on physical machines, virtual machines, in the cloud, or any combination of the three. Because SPS is easy to manage and maintain and requires no expensive hardware, you can cost-effectively extend Linux high availability, Linux disaster recovery, and data protection to all of your enterprise applications, from e-mail to ERP.
